2024 Cognizant Workday Rising Conference — AI Transformation booth
Workday Rising draws 15,000+ attendees and over 100 sponsors competing for the same enterprise audience. Cognizant — freshly rebranded after acquiring Collaborative Solutions — needed a booth that could punch above its Platinum tier and make a lasting impression against Titanium-level sponsors with three times the floor space and budget. The brief: own the AI conversation on the conference floor in a way no other sponsor would dare try.
The brand I'd built for Collaborative Solutions was built on music rebellion and human connection — deliberately disruptive for a Workday partner. After the Cognizant acquisition, that same rebellious energy needed to survive a corporate rebrand. The challenge wasn't just a new event — it was proving the brand's soul could carry forward into a global enterprise context without becoming another sea of blue and buzzwords.
I moved the brand from "Rockstar" to "Visionary." The Transformation Wave concept centered on fluid, abstract data visualizations representing AI momentum — forms that felt cutting-edge without falling into the clichéd robot-and-circuit imagery dominating every other booth. The "Ignite Your Business" theme used a high-contrast application of Cognizant's palette — deep navy against electric teal and sharp white — to create a visual field that stopped foot traffic from twenty feet away.
Three specific decisions separated this from every other activation on the floor: using large-format abstract photography instead of product screenshots, writing all copy at the register of a manifesto rather than a feature sheet, and designing the booth to feel more like a gallery installation than a trade show exhibit.
