International Parking Design produces an annual calendar as a client gift — a piece that lives on the walls of architecture firms, municipal planning offices, and real estate developers throughout the year. The calendar needed to showcase IPD's portfolio of parking structure projects while functioning as a genuinely beautiful piece of print design that recipients would want to display.
Parking structures are rarely treated as architectural subjects — they're utilitarian by reputation. The design challenge was to reframe IPD's work as genuine architecture worth photographing: interesting light, strong geometry, unexpected texture. The photography direction focused on moments where structure, shadow, and material created visual interest independent of function.
The calendar grid was designed to give each photograph maximum breathing room — minimal typography, generous white space, and a grid that lets the architecture speak. The IPD brand was held quietly in the design system rather than placed prominently, positioning the piece as a design artifact rather than marketing collateral.
